Red rose crochet book mark - free pattern

It's quite a simple idea, and it's very easy to make. I close a pattern I liked, I added a stem and a leaf, that makes a lovely book mark!

I used this cotton: phildar Phil coton 3 and a 2,5 (US: B/1 - UK 13)crochet of course you can use any cotton or wool you like make sure you have the correct crochet.

The rose:

R 1- chain 63.

R 2- start from the second stitch from the crochet *1 dc, ch 3, 1dc* to the end of the row.

Rg 3 in every arch crochet as follows: 1 hdc, 1dc, 2 double trebles, 1 dc, 1 hdc.

When you get to the end, fasten off leaving a long thread to sew the flower.

Roll up what you just crocheted into a rose.

You'll get a rose of about 5 cm

Turn the rose on the other side and sew the flower.

Leaves:

Start from the back of the flower with green yarn. Start from the middle of the flower crocheting (green) slip stitches until you get to the border of the flower (7sl st for me).

Chain 45, +9 to make the leaf.

Crochet only front loops like this:

1slst starting from the second stitch from the crochet, 1sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc, 1sc, 1slst. That's one half of the leaf. Now you are going to make the other half of the leaf. Turn your leaf around so that you can crochet in the other loop left when crocheting the first half of the leaf.

Chain 1, 1sc, hdc, 3dc, 1 hdc, 1sc, 1slst. Finish off.

You make flowers with different colours, use different yarn sizes, have fun!
