Another soft and warm hat easy to make.
Another hatto add to my collection, I guess I like to make beannies, this one is simple with a border and a snow flake with a matching pompon. A special gift for a little boy or a little girl! Choose a warm and soft yarn.
materials :
1 ball of yarn for crochet hook 10 / 11 100g or 75 m for adult size you might need a second one.
(I used yarn grundl, Alaska uni- I recommend using a yarn containing wool or mérinos wool because it will be warm)
1 crochet hook n°9 – (US : P – GB : 2/0)
blue yarn left overs for the snoflake (I used coton grundl n°3 and other left overs I had).
Stitches used : (us crochet termes)
st : stitch
sl st : slip stitch
sc : single crochet
hdc : half double crochet
dc : double crochet
abreviations used :
*….* for instructions to be repeated.
{….} for a group of instructions to be repeated.
inc: increase = 2 stitches in the same stitch.
FO : Fasten off
Hat :
The begining of each row starts with a slip stitch. (the latter is not counted when counting the stitches of the row).
Each row is closed by a slip stitch in the first stitch of the row.
The first stitch goes in the first stitch of the previous row (in the same stitch than the sl st).
8 hdc in a magic loop (8 hdc)
inc 8, with sc (16 sc)
*1 sc,1 inc* , repeat 8 times (24 sc)
*2 sc,1 inc* , repeat 8 times (32 sc)
*3 sc,1 inc* , repeat 8 times (40 sc)

40 sc, change color in the last stitch of the row before making the sl st.
With blue : 40 sc, change color in the last stitch of the row before making the sl st.
With white : 40 sc, change color in the last stitch of the row before making the sl st.

The snow flake :
Couleur 1 :(dark blue)
1. 12 sc in a magic circle closed with a slst.
2. {1 slst, chain 8, 1slst, in the 2nd st from the hook, 1slst. *chain 3, 1 slst, in the
2nd stitch from the hook and 1 sl st in the 3rd st from the hook. * rép 1 time from *to* 1 slst in the 5th st from the begining of the chain, 4 slst (to join the base). 1 slst in the sc at the base of the chain, 1 sc in the following st. } Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew the snowflake to the hat.
Color 2 : (pink) This second round overlays the first one.
1 sl st in the sc du from the firts row at the bottom of the firtst Chain 4 starting the arch of the first row (you can start anywhere)
1 slst, in the following sc *chain 8, 1 sl st in the 5th st from the hook, chain 5 , 1 sl st at the bottom of the following arch from the previous row repeat, 5 times you will get 6 arches. Fasten off
Add or skip make less rows according to how long you want your hat to be !
